Your leg popped out and landed on your stomach. What the.. What happened why you couldn’t board for a year?
Aaah man! It was one of those good days filming for NITRO SNBRDS new team video WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN. I was about to hit this gap – metal wall ride. I jinxed myself before dropping in the first try of the day… I pretty much said to my buddy Marc: “Worst case scenario is to hit my shin on top of the wall and bounce down to flat.”
What happened!? Exactly that same thing! Fuck!
It resulted in a totally messed up shin and a dislocated hip. They rushed me to the hospital, put me asleep , stitched my leg back together and popped my hip back in place. I woke up totally drugged out , talking about Kurt Cobains cardigans and partying naked ! Hahaha! Wasn’t that frustrating like hell? Yeah man, it sucked balls! I had the best pre-season in years and it felt like it could be my best season so far… Bummer!

Are you a man of many talents so you could express yourself differently?
Correct! I got many things in the air! Since I was jumping on crutches being handicapped for over a year, I could concentrate more on my social media promotion and other stuff with sponsors like Macbeth Footwear, Drop Dead Clothing, Jägermeister, Flat Fitty, Grimjob and others… Working a bit with art directing and design. Freelance filming and editing harcore/metal/rock festivals and events. Making crazy videos, partying, headbanging and moshing!!
I love it.
Filling yourself with tattoos as well, right? What do these mean to you?
Getting time of boarding I had time to get some extra hours of tattoo appointments over at my tattoo artist Horimatsu. I’m getting a traditional japanese irezumi full body tattoo based on a story about “Chushingura” also know as the “47 Ronin”. It takes a lot of commitment and hours getting it done, but it is definitely worth it! I remember leaving my first session after getting injured, I felt super happy and in a good mood! I guess it is kind of therapeutic.
You’re also not the most traditional snowboarder we know of. A few of your sponsors are Drop Dead and Macbeth, two of the biggest brands in music. Yes, music, haha.
Haha! Yeah, that is kind of rad! I have always been trying to push myself in other directions than the “normal sports man”.
And since I got the same attitude , style and taste in music… It kind of suited me well! Lenneke and the peeps over at Macbeth EU plus Oli and the family over at Drop Dead are super cool! I appreciate that those brands took me under their wings and got me involved with stuff that normally a Snowboarder would´t get to do. One love. New to the list is UK Custom Plugs, Atticus Beer and some free “goodies” from Jägermeister… Party at my place anyone?! Haha.

Crosses, painted faces, death metal: you’re quite the rebel, aren’t you?
Haha, yeah kind of… Ever since I was a kid a have been drawn to that kind of stuff. I do my own thing! Haters gonna hate, haha!
Is it because you like to challenge boundaries, pushing the edges?
Hellz yeah! I have pretty much always been like that, jumping of roofs as a kid doing crazy stuff… Full throttle! Actually if you meet me in person I am pretty calm as a person but when I get something to do , to take away that energy built up inside. I am always pushing the edges!
Go easy, dude. We want you to stick around just a little longer, not in 666 pieces, haha.
Thanx mate!
Stay true to metal cuz metal will stay true to you!
